For those of you following my recipe journal entries, yes I am still plugging away at weight loss. Michael and I are still committed to bring the weight down. It’s been 3 months since our New Year resolution and still not reaping any benefits. Uggg. It’s no wonder that people quit. Losing weight is hard but… still delicious. I love natural fresh foods. I really love… food in general, especially this peanut butter chocolate protein shake.
Many years ago, before I came along, Michael was a fit fiddle. He still is pretty fit, but I mean… He was really fit. Family life has allowed us both to be a little soft, though… I am winning at the “soft” race. As I was saying, before I came along, his life was full of exercise and protein shakes. I’ve tried his routine, but it resulted in an injured knee. The shakes were the best part of that whole deal, but none of them were as good as this peanut butter chocolate protein shake.
I’m not actively lifting weights like he used to, but I’m still wanting to start off my day with a protein boost. The protein boost doesn’t need to be as high as he is used to, but it’s nice to have a quick healthy boost in the morning without consuming too many calories.
This recipe was inspired by Cocozia’s Chocolate Coconut Water. I use their regular coconut water to make a great Coconut Rice Stir Fry recipe that’s absolutely amazing. Now that I’m thinking of it… I’m pretty sure I’ll need to make that tonight. So good!
When I found that that Cocozia just came out with a Chocolate Coconut Water, I knew that some pretty delicious and refreshing were in my future! I’m hoping this peanut butter chocolate protein shake will help me with my weight loss. We will see if I can maintain portion control with these guys! If not, then at least I stuffed myself on delicious low calorie shakes! Oh yeah!
