Warm brie topped with a homemade raspberry jam makes a beautiful display. It has a rustic look to it, and I plan to make this a center piece for an up n’ coming friendly gathering! Raspberry brie looks awesome, and tastes even better. I first discovered this amazing combination in a small town named Leavenworth.
It was a beautiful summer in Leavenworth. Leavenworth is a stunning Bavarian village, tucked away in the middle of the Pacific Northwest. Lush green covered mountains surround the tiny village. Michael and I joined together as husband and wife just that morning!
Brie Wheel
Our first dinner as husband and wife was in a tiny second story restaurant. We sat in a beautiful “attic like” dining area lit by candles and dim rustic lighting. There was a window bumped up to our table, only it didn’t have glass. It had two wooden shutters, pulled open to invite the night air. Just outside the window was a large planter box full of blooming flowers of various colors.
The town was lit by antique looking lights. The streets were busy with laughter, love and excitement. There was the distant sound of music, accordions, and the jingling of bells from the horse-drawn carriage. The buildings have an architectural charm that made us feel like we left the Northwest and found ourselves in Bavaria!
Michael and I took in all this beauty while enjoying… probably my favorite meal ever. I don’t know if the restaurant gets full credit, or if it’s because I was enjoying it with the love of my life on our wedding night. That night Michael and I ordered the baked raspberry brie, and it was outstanding! I sent my compliments to the chef, who ended up coming out to our table and talking with us for a while.
So here you go…my favorite appetizer, warm raspberry brie. A dish that brings me back to that attic restaurant in Leavenworth with my favorite guy!
- 1 8 ounce brie wheel
- 1/2 cup homemade raspberry jam
- Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Remove brie wheel from container and discard wrapping. Place wheel on a cookie sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top with homemade raspberry jam. Serve with crackers.
