Cranberry Apple Oatmeal is one of my favorite breakfast meals, especially in the fall. Over the weekend the kids and I were noticing leaves all over the ground! Fall is coming! I am absolutely thrilled! It is the time of year where we get to dress up in warm knits, layered clothing, puddle boots and scarves! Oh how I love scarves of all kinds and varieties. Fall is all about comfort foods, comfort clothes and comfort weather! Toss in the beauty of colored leaves with tasty fall foods and I am one very happy mama. You better believe I’m going to be cuddling up with my babies on these fall mornings, eating a warm bowl of cranberry apple oatmeal!
Oatmeal is now our family’s version of cereal. We don’t buy sugary cereals anymore. It wasn’t always that way and yes, I do get a little huff from the kids now and then about it. They drool over the cereal aisle now and then, coming up with different ways to break me down but… this experienced mom is unbreakable 😉 There was a day when those packages used to lure me in but now I know to run the other way. They say wisdom comes with age, maybe that’s the case!
So I have reached the time in my life where various forms of oatmeal make me excited. It’s even more fun to name the varieties of oatmeal. Saturday morning Michael and I giggled uncontrollably after he blurted out “crapple”. Of course I can’t contain the laughter or the tears rolling down my face. It’s one of the reasons why I love my husband so much. Because he’s bizarre and goofy. The kids always stare at us like we are bizarre when situations like these arise. These are the moments that I live for 😀
So there you go ladies and gentlemen. My “crapple” oatmeal. It’s “crapple-licous”!
Yes, I am giggling now as I pause from my computer to lean over and ask Michael… “how would you spell ‘crapple-licous’?”. I love my life.
